OUR WORK

Sustainability Services for leading Agribusiness

Blak has been working with a leading Indonesian Palm and Rubber Plantation company to design and implement a tailored sustainability system to manage their sustainability performance across a suite of Environmental, Social and Economic parameters.  This system is designed and updated as required to meet continually evolving domestic obligations, industry standards like the Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil commitments, as well as international market requirements in particular evolving European Sustainability Reporting Standard requirements. Blak also assists with ongoing reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Blak recently undertook a full GHG Assessment including scope 1, 2 and 3 for the entire operations of a leading palm oil and rubber plantation company located in Indonesia.  The assessment spanned the entire value chain of its business including a full scope 3 assessment.

Based on the results of this report and forward modelling, Blak is also assisting and advising on GHG reduction strategy and time bound GHG targets.

Blak also undertook a full assessment of climate risk and opportunities under the Taskforce for Climate Financial Disclosure and the principle of double materiality under the European Sustainability Reporting Standards.

This Project under development, will protect and restore a 50,000 ha mosaic peat and keramas forest, an important site for biodiversity including home to over 700 orangutans.  The Project is undergoing Climate Community and Biodiversity (CCB) Certification.  Blak team members oversaw all biodiversity fieldwork and provided design and management services in line with CCB requirements. This included a full orangutan assessment, rapid HCV and Flora and Fauna Assessment and eDNA rapid assessment.
